Installing the Fantasia Remote Control Part 1

Installing the Fantasia Remote Control Part 1

The Fantasia Remote Control system is a really handy piece of kit and either comes complete with your fan (on certain models) or can be added as an accessory. It is a very simple device to install & allows you to control not only the activation & speeds of your fan but also the light (if your fan comes with a light). It will even dim the light up & down.

Installation is easy. The system comprises of 2 parts. The Handset, with all the buttons, & the receiver unit. The receiver unit on the Fantasia Remote control fits in to the top of your fan upon installation or can be retro fitted to an existing Fantasia fan. Wiring is very simple as each small cable has a label that tells you where to connect each one. As the image below illustrates. A blue & brown cable is intended to be connected to your incoming live & neutral from your home electrics (which may either be brown or red for live & black or blue for neutral depending upon how old your cabling is). These are easily connected with a connector block. On the other side of the receiver unit is 3 cables which again have small labels on them indicating their correct installation. The orange cable should be connected to the fans orange cable which supplies the fans light. The blue & brown cables are for the fans live & neutral power connections. The black cable coming from the end of the unit is the remote controls antennae which doesn’t have to be seen by the handset for the unit to work. Once all wired in this receiver unit is hidden from view under the dish that covers up the fans attachment to the ceiling.
