Installing the Fantasia Remote Control: Part 2

Installing the Fantasia Remote Control: Part 2

Once you have installed the receiver unit, as explained in part one of how to install a Fantasia remote control, you can switch the power back on. Pushing the light button on the handset should bring the light on however if it doesn’t and your fan has a pull cord for its light then pull this pull cord and the light will then activate and work with the remote. Pressing the fan button should bring the fan on however you can reset this by pulling the cord after pressing the button and the fan should work in tandem with the remote control.

Dip switch settings. One thing to ensure is that both the remote receiver & the handset have the same dip switch settings. These usually come pre-set to the same levels by Fantasia however it is always worth checking if your remote seems to be unresponsive. Dip switches are 4 little switches that can either be set up or down and can be found on the side of the receiver unit or under the battery compartment on the handset. The switch positions can be set to any positions as long as they both match. For ease it may be suitable to simply set all the switches in the down position on both receiver & handset. This system of switches is great as it firstly allows you to fit another Fantasia fan & remote in another room that can be set to a different frequency (by choosing a different dip switch position) & also stops any outside interference from any other devices.  If your fan does seem to be getting interference you can try changing the dip switch settings on both receiver & handset (keeping them matched) & this should resolve the problem

The receiver unit dip switches can be viewed in the window on the unit. A matching arrangement can be found on the handset under the battery compartment
